Overview

The 1/2 air brake push-in double union connects two matching sections of 1/2″ nylon tube in a straight line. It suits repairs and extensions where the air line must continue without a threaded port, change in tube size or directional bend.

Specifications and Materials

This D.O.T. double union carries two equal 1/2″ push-in ports through a compact brass body. Each port grips and seals compatible nylon air-brake tube after the tube reaches the internal stop. Compatibility and Fitment

Measure both tube sections across the outside diameter before ordering. Each connection requires 1/2″ imperial tube. Do not substitute 12mm metric tube, a reducing union, a bulkhead union or a threaded socket, as these use different dimensions or connection methods.

Cut each tube end square, remove burrs and push the tube fully into the internal stop. Pull back lightly to confirm both collets have engaged. Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the complete pneumatic circuit before cutting the tube or releasing either collet. Inspect the sealing areas for scoring, flattening, contamination and heat damage. Trim back or replace damaged tube rather than attempting to seal a worn surface.

Support the repaired line so it does not pull sideways through the union. Keep the tube clear of sharp edges, moving components and heat sources, then restore pressure gradually and leak-test both connections.
