Hex Nipple 1/4 NPT x 1/4 NPT Air Fitting
Hex Nipple 1/4 NPT x 1/4 NPT Air Fitting
$4.00
Brass hex nipple with matching 1/4 NPT male threads for joining two female threaded pneumatic ports in a straight line.
Part number 02N27-04.
Description
Overview
The 1/4 NPT hex nipple joins two female 1/4 NPT threaded ports in a straight line. Matching male threads at both ends create a compact connection for pneumatic components where an adaptor with no change in thread size is required.
The centre hex gives a spanner a firm contact point while either end is tightened. This makes the fitting easier to control than a fully threaded nipple and helps prevent unnecessary force being transferred into the connected valve, manifold or adjoining fitting.
Features
- Matching 1/4 NPT male threads at both ends
- Straight male-to-male connection
- Brass body with an open internal passage
- Centre hex flats for spanner installation
Specifications and Materials
This 1/4 NPT hex nipple uses a No.27 configuration with equal tapered male pipe threads. The brass body combines two threaded ends with an integral hex section and does not require separate tube nuts, olives or inserts.
Part number: 02N27-04.

Compatibility and Fitment
Confirm that both receiving ports are female 1/4 NPT before ordering. Do not match the fitting by outside diameter alone because BSP and NPT threads can appear similar while using different thread forms and sealing arrangements.
Check that each threaded end can engage without bottoming and that the centre hex remains accessible for a spanner. These cross-references show where this part replaces the part numbers and applications listed. Some installations may need minor changes. GP-027-04, GP02704
Compliance and Safety
Depressurise the air system before removing or installing the nipple. Clean both receiving ports and apply a compatible pneumatic thread sealant to the male threads without allowing excess material to enter the bore.
Tighten from the centre hex rather than gripping the threaded sections. Restore system pressure gradually, inspect both joints for leakage and avoid overtightening the brass body or the components connected to it.
Trailer Applications
Trailer and heavy-vehicle workshops use equal hex nipples to connect valves, adaptors, manifolds and other threaded air-system components. The straight male-to-male layout also suits workshop compressed-air plumbing when both ports use the same 1/4 NPT connection.

Why Choose ICS Trailers
Thread type is the main ordering risk with small pneumatic fittings. Compare the old fitting markings and both receiving ports before purchase, or send clear photos and measurements if the connection needs further identification.
