Termco TCL16-6 electro-tinned copper cable lug for 16mm² cable and 6mm stud connections.
Part number TCL16-6.
Description
Overview
Termco TCL16-6 cable lug suits 16mm² cable and a 6mm stud connection for battery, earth, power and trailer electrical cable termination work. The copper tube lug gives workshops a crimped eye terminal for fastening cable to studs, busbars, battery connections, isolators and electrical equipment.
Features
- Suits 16mm² cable with 6mm stud hole.
- Heavy duty copper tube lug for crimp termination.
- Electro-tinned finish for corrosion resistance.
- Made from oxygen free copper with 99.9% conductivity by I.A.C.S. standards.
Specifications and Materials
This cable lug suits 16mm² cable and a 6mm stud. The lug uses oxygen free copper with an electro-tinned finish and follows Australian cable lug dimensions for use with compatible Australian tooling.
Part number: TCL16-6.
For connector test method details, see AS/NZS 4325.1
Compatibility and Fitment
Match the cable size, stud diameter and crimp die before ordering. The main mismatch risk with this lug is choosing the right cable size but the wrong stud hole, especially where the cable connects to battery posts, busbars, isolators or earth studs.
Strip the cable cleanly, insert the conductor fully into the barrel and crimp with the correct die for 16mm² copper lugs. Do not crimp over damaged, loose or oxidised cable strands.

Compliance and Safety
Pull-test the crimp after fitting and check that the lug sits flat on the stud face before tightening. Replace the lug if the barrel splits, the cable pulls out, the palm bends badly or the eye hole no longer sits square on the stud.
Protect the finished connection from rubbing, moisture and accidental shorting. Use suitable insulation, heatshrink or cable support where the lead runs near chassis edges, battery boxes, suspension parts or moving equipment.
Trailer Applications
Trailer workshops use 16-6 cable lugs on battery leads, earth straps, power feeds, auxiliary circuits, winch wiring, charge leads and other heavier electrical connections. The 6mm stud hole suits smaller mounting studs where the cable still needs a 16mm² crimp barrel.
Why Choose ICS Trailers
ICS Trailers supplies cable lugs, terminals, cable, heatshrink, connectors and trailer electrical parts for repair and fitment work. If you are replacing an existing lug, check the cable size printed on the cable, the stud diameter and the available palm clearance before ordering.
