Overview

The 5/8 air brake push-in double union joins two matching sections of 5/8″ nylon tube in a straight pneumatic line. This larger union suits repairs or extensions where the existing tube size and direction must remain unchanged without adding a threaded connection.

Compatibility and Fitment

Measure both tube sections across their outside diameter before ordering. Each connection requires 5/8″ imperial tube. Do not substitute 16mm metric tube, a reducing union, a bulkhead fitting or a threaded coupling, as these use different dimensions or installation arrangements.

Cut each tube end square, remove burrs and push the tube fully into the internal stop. Pull back lightly to confirm both collets have engaged. Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the air system before cutting the tube or releasing either connection. Inspect each sealing area for scoring, flattening, contamination and heat damage. Trim back or replace damaged tube rather than attempting to seal over a worn surface.

Support the repaired line so its weight does not pull sideways through the union. Keep the tube away from sharp edges, moving parts, heat sources and battery acid, then restore pressure gradually and leak-test both ends.
