Overview

The 1/8 NPT female cross divides or combines a threaded pneumatic line through four equal female ports. Each connection enters the brass body at a right angle, creating a compact four-way junction where several components need to share one air passage.

Unlike a female tee, this cross provides an additional fourth port. The symmetrical layout also allows any port to serve as the inlet, outlet or branch where the system design permits.

Compatibility and Fitment

Confirm that all four mating components use 1/8 NPT male threads. A female tee has only three ports, while BSP and NPT fittings can appear similar despite using different thread forms and sealing arrangements.

Allow enough room around each side of the cross for the connected fittings, hoses or valves. Check that tools can reach the mating components without placing twisting force through the brass body.

Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the pneumatic system before removing or installing the fitting. Clean each mating thread and apply compatible pneumatic thread sealant to the male components, keeping excess sealant away from the central passage.

Support the cross while tightening each connection so force from one port is not transferred into another. Restore pressure gradually and leak-test all four joints before returning the system to service.
