Description

Overview

The 1/4 BSPP Brass Pneumatic Silencer reduces compressed-air exhaust noise at a compatible pneumatic valve or component outlet. Its brass body carries a G1/4 male parallel thread, while the flat stainless steel mesh vents discharged air through the silencing element. This compact 17mm-hex version fits installations with limited space or spanner access.

Features

  • Brass body with stainless steel silencing mesh
  • G1/4 male BSPP pneumatic connection
  • 1000 Nl/min rated exhaust flow
  • 78 dB(A) rated noise level

Specifications and Materials

Maximum operating pressure: 10 bar. Camozzi measures the 1000 Nl/min rated flow with a 6 bar inlet supply and discharge to atmosphere. It measures the 78 dB(A) noise rating from one metre away over ten seconds.

The body measures 18.5mm across, with a total length of 14mm, a 6mm threaded section and a 17mm spanner size. Part number: 2901 1/4-17.

Compatibility and Fitment

Match the G1/4 male parallel thread to a female G1/4 or 1/4 BSPP exhaust port. The main mismatch risk is confusing BSPP with BSPT or NPT, which use different sealing arrangements or thread forms. Also confirm that the 18.5mm body clears nearby fittings and valve hardware.

Install the silencer on an exhaust outlet rather than a pressure supply port. Start the thread by hand, tighten through the 17mm hex and follow the component manufacturer’s sealing instructions for the parallel thread.

Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the pneumatic circuit before removal or installation. Inspect the stainless steel mesh for dirt, oil or damage because restriction can slow exhaust flow and affect valve operation. For maintenance, degrease the element with white spirit or paraffin, then blow compressed air through it opposite to the normal operating direction.

Trailer Applications

The 1/4 BSPP Brass Pneumatic Silencer suits compatible 3/2, 5/2 and 5/3-way valve exhausts in trailer controls, auxiliary pneumatic equipment and workshop air installations. Its low-profile body fits areas where a taller silencer could interfere with surrounding components.

Why Choose ICS Trailers

ICS Trailers supplies pneumatic fittings and valve accessories for trailer and workshop repairs. When replacing an exhaust silencer, send the old thread size, valve details and a clear photo if you cannot identify the port type.
