Overview

The 12mm air brake male connector joins 12mm metric nylon tube to a 1/2 NPT female port in a trailer or heavy-vehicle pneumatic circuit. This straight version provides the larger 1/2in threaded connection while keeping the tube side at 12mm.

Compatibility and Fitment

Confirm the tube measures 12mm across its outside diameter and the receiving component has a 1/2 NPT female port. Do not substitute 1/2in tube, which measures 12.7mm, and do not install the fitting into a 1/2 BSP or straight metric thread. Similar-looking pipe threads can bind or leak when mismatched. Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the air circuit before removing or installing the connector. Cut the tube square, discard any scored or oval section and push the tube fully through the collet to the internal stop. Tighten through the brass hex without forcing the tapered thread, then restore pressure gradually and leak-test the tube and threaded connections.
