Overview

The adjustable pressure switch changes an electrical circuit when pneumatic pressure reaches the selected operating point. This variable product is available with either a 15psi or 35psi factory preset, allowing the switching threshold to match different warning, interlock or auxiliary-control requirements.

Three terminals provide normally open, normally closed and common connections. The set point can be fine-tuned after installation, while the 1/8 NPT male connection mounts directly into a compatible pressure port.

Compatibility and Fitment

Choose the preset that matches the required switching point, then confirm the circuit needs both normally open and normally closed contacts. The main ordering risks are selecting the wrong pressure preset, confusing 1/8 NPT with BSP thread, or replacing a two-terminal switch with this three-terminal arrangement.

After installation, apply pressure through a calibrated gauge and adjust the switch gradually until the electrical changeover occurs at the required point. The adjustable pressure switch should be tested through several rising and falling pressure cycles before the equipment returns to service.

Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the pneumatic circuit and isolate electrical power before fitting or wiring the switch. Keep thread sealant out of the pressure opening, confirm the common, normally open and normally closed terminals before connection, and mount the switch away from excessive vibration. Do not install it in a primary brake-control function unless approved for that exact circuit.

Suitable applications include low-pressure warning lamps, auxiliary compressor controls, pneumatic interlocks and pressure-dependent equipment functions on trucks, trailers and workshop-built air systems. The 15psi option suits lower switching thresholds, while the 35psi option suits circuits that must remain inactive until higher pressure is available.
