Overview

The 1/2 tube x 1/2 NPT push-in male connector joins 1/2″ outside-diameter nylon air-brake tube directly to a matching female threaded port. Unlike reducing connectors, this version uses a full 1/2″ tube connection and 1/2 NPT thread for pneumatic equipment with the same nominal size at both ends.

Compatibility and Fitment

Confirm that the air line measures 1/2″ across its outside diameter and that the receiving component has a 1/2 NPT female port. The tube and thread share the same nominal size but use different connection methods. Do not substitute 12mm metric tube, a 1/2 BSP fitting or a tube-to-tube union.

Cut the nylon tube square, remove burrs and push it fully through the collet until it reaches the internal stop. Pull back lightly to confirm engagement. Compliance and Safety

Depressurise the complete pneumatic circuit before installing the fitting or releasing the tube. Inspect the tube near the sealing area for scoring, flattening, contamination or heat damage, as a damaged surface may leak even when fully inserted.

Apply tightening force through the body hex and keep additional sealing material away from the air passage. Route the tube without side load, then pressurise the circuit gradually and leak-test both connections before returning the vehicle to service.
